My research contributes to the multi-disciplinary research streams of knowledge generation and innovation in knowledge-intense industries. My main areas of expertise include:
- Knowledge Generation and Innovation in Knowledge-intense Industries
- Alliances, Collaboration, and Innovation Networks
- Internationalization of Science and R&D
- Repurposing and Exaptation
My research has a strong focus on empirical projects that apply quantitative research designs using rich and large datasets, e.g., of scientific publications or clinical trials. Typically, I use different regression methods as well as social network analysis to analyze these datasets. However, I have recently commenced mixed-method studies that also use qualitative data.
